We have a concept for a very low-profile internal insert for fuel pump nozzles designed to reduce post-dispense fuel dripping.
The idea is not to change the outer nozzle shape or block vehicle fuel tank entry. The insert would sit only on the inner lower lip of the nozzle and use a small angled channel to catch the final fuel droplet and redirect it back toward the nozzle instead of letting it fall to the ground.
Main goals:
- Must not affect fuel flow
- Must not interfere with automatic shutoff systems
- Must not increase outer diameter
- Should be simple, inexpensive, and replaceable
- Compatible with standard fuel nozzles
At this stage, I’m mainly looking for:
1. Feasibility feedback
2. Initial CAD/product concept refinement
3. Possible fluid behavior considerations (CFD if needed later)
