We need an experienced trailer/design engineer to develop a heavy-duty flatbed/drop-deck semi-trailer for transporting steel coils and 20 ft containers, including 3D CAD and manufacturing drawings.
Technical Requirements:
- Payload: 33 tonnes; steel coil maximum stated weight: 33.5 tonnes (to be reconciled).
- Loads: Steel coils and 20 ft containers.
- Coil dimensions: Maximum diameter stated as 1.5 mm (unit requires confirmation); maximum width 2,000 mm.
- Maximum length: 7,000 mm.
- Maximum width: 2,450 mm.
- Maximum trailer weight: 5 tonnes.
- Axles: Tri-axle; single or dual tyres acceptable.
- Suspension: Heavy-duty air or mechanical.
- Chassis: High-tensile steel I/H-beam construction, e.g., S355, Domex, or Strenx.
- Design for concentrated coil loads, container support, structural strength, and load distribution.
Deliverables:
- Complete 3D CAD assembly and editable files.
- Dimensioned manufacturing drawings.
- Structural calculations and load-case validation.
- BOM, material specifications, and fabrication details.
